My Grieving Hand

A Heavenly Way to Find Comfort in Loss

By Keith Lilek (Author)

My Grieving Hand is a brief exploration into how to provide some comfort and perspective when someone close to you suddenly experiences the loss of a loved one. I found myself not knowing how to provide comfort and understanding to friends who suddenly and unexpectedly lost their child. I did not know what to say or do to ease their pain . . . or mine.

My Grieving Hand: A Heavenly Way to Find Comfort in Loss is my dive into the stages of grief, poetically and most gently exploring God's plan to be better prepared to mentor anyone in need.

Who It's For

Adults, young parents, young adults, Christians, Mentors (magisterium) to teach how to inspire. Can be sold as a “gift card” at funeral homes; those suffering through loss; Any reader looking for a wonderful compelling analysis with the serious subject matter of helping support someone you meet who just lost a child; support groups; funeral directors.

My Hope for the Reader

To eliminate the uncomfortable feeling of not knowing how or what to say to comfort someone during times of loss. It was suggested to me to expand on the stages of grief we go through originally written about in The Sonnets of Laina’s Life. As I knew nothing about the formal stages of grief, I quickly learned, to my utter amazement, that the five sonnets I wrote lined up perfectly with the five stages of grief. I had no idea!

I expanded on each stage of grief for this book. It was written more as a pamphlet or “card” to be given to someone as a gift at a time of loss. It expands and explores, from a deeper and more psychological perspective, the stages of grief we go through and originally written about in The Sonnet’s of Laina’s Life.
